Description of Electrical Conductivity Meter EE0011

EE0011 is a kind of eddy current electrical conductivity meter, designed for quick and convenient measurement of material property, such as material separate, quality control, material state check and so on. It uses the electromagnetism testing principle. Testing objects focus on non-ferromagnetic material.

Features:

– The meter uses 60 KHz (aviation industry standard) to inspirit.
– The testing data can be read in two kinds of unit: %IACS and MS/m.
– Its big typeface, the back light illumination designs are advantageous for users to take the testing data even in low light condition.
– It uses the high property battery to make sure it keeps more running time, and because of its mini-size, it is easy to carry and to grasp hold.
– The design of the meter is more advantages: user can replace the probe in the outdoor, don’t need to return to the company to adjust the probe into matching the meter.
– It can hold measurement data.

Applications:

– Test the conductivity of aluminum, copper and other non-ferrous magnetic metal in the processing industry.
– In the aerospace and automotive industries, monitor the process of heat treatment, the strength and hardness of aluminum alloy.
– Test the conductivity aluminum when it has not been oxidized.
– Test the purity grade of materials.
– Test materials resistivity.
– Material Thermal Performance analysis.

Why We Need to Calibrate the Eddy Current Conductivity Meter?

While an electrical conductivity meter is essential to determine the presence of electrical charges in various materials, the accuracy of its measurements is equally important. Electrical conductivity meter calibration ensures the reading of the electrical conductivity meter is accurate when compared with a standard. It turns out the calibration process will often involve using this conductivity meter standard to adjudge the accuracy of the meter by resetting the electrical conductivity meter’s reading to the value given by the conductivity meter standard. However, since various ranges of conductivity are often tested, you might have to seek unique calibration standards for different conductivity range measurements.

How to Calibrate Electrical Conductivity Meter?

  1. Press “Cal” key, put the probe in the air for 3 seconds,  then press “Cal” key.
  2. Put the probe on block 1 for 3 seconds. Make a full contact between the probe and test block 1, then press “Cal” key.
  3. Put the probe on block 2 for 3 seconds. Make a full contact between the probe and test block 2, then press “Cal” key.

Electrical Conductivity Meter Standard

Standards are vital in many operations that require measurements, including electrical conductivity measurements. But the thing with electrical conductivity meter calibration standards is that they are categorized into two. The first is determined using direct current, while the second uses alternating current. Yet they both have their merits and demerits. The DC standard considers the material volume to get an average conductivity value, compensating for any inhomogeneity in the material. Unlike the DC standards, the AC standard takes a fractional volume of the material, where most of the eddy current used in this operation is concentrated on the material surface.

Tips for Electrical Conductivity Meter Calibration

  • You need to keep the probe vertically and even touch the sample’s surface, gently lower or pick it up, and handle it with even force.
  • It is not good to hold the probe by hand for a long time. Holding the probe for a long time will cause the temperature value to rise.
  • It is necessary for calibration blocks, samples, instruments, and probes to operate at a stable ambient temperature as much as possible.
  • It is suggested to use and store the instruments and standard blocks under conditions free from corrosion, vibration, and electromagnetic fields.
  • It is strictly forbidden to touch the end of the probe, the block, and the tested part of the sample with your fingers.
  • If there is grease or dirt on the block, sample, or probe, it should be cleaned in time.
  • The instrument and probe should be prevented from shaking and bumping. Do not scratch the surface of the block.
  • If the probe tip is severely worn, a new probe needs to be replaced to ensure measurement accuracy.
  • Never touch the temperature sensor (the circular aluminum sheet on the upper back of the instrument) with your fingers.
